Door Prizes

At each regular meeting, two door prizes are given to members who have returned previous door prize plants for the auction per the agreement signed.  The agreement states that when a door prize is won, the recipient is to return the same number of fans for  a later auction  equaling the number of fans received to begin with from the door prize purchase.

BUCK$ Cards

At the beginning of each year members are given BUCK$ cards, which are stamped for all club activities that a person takes part in during that year.  During the following year, members can redeem their cards at the auctions for $2 for each stamp shown on the card.

Club Plants

Tier I Club plants are given out at the April meeting of each year to all of those members who attended all of the previous year's meetings to be kept for two years.  Tier II Club plants are given out to 25% of the number of Tier I plants to those that only missed one meeting in the previous year.  After two years, all the increase of the club plants is to be returned for the club auction.

Annual Lauritzen Gardens Sale

Each year at the "Spring Into Spring" event at Lauritzen Gardens, NDS has a sales table, selling daylilies provided by the membership, with the selling handled by the members as well.  The sales receipts go a long way toward funding the NDS college scholarships.

Scholarship Program

NDS awards one or two college scholarships each year to members or family of members who are enrolled full time in horticulture classes at a Nebraska college or university and keep a grade point of 3.0 on a four-point scale or it's equivalent.  See NDS Yearbook for complete program or contact one of the officers for application.

Plant Auctions

At the April and August NDS meetings, plant auctions are held to support all of the current NDS programs, with NDS purchased and member supplied plants.
