Door Prizes
At each regular meeting, two door prizes are given to members who have returned previous door prize plants for the auction per the agreement signed. The agreement states that when a door prize is won, the recipient is to return the same number of fans for a later auction equaling the number of fans received to begin with from the door prize purchase.

Annual Lauritzen Gardens Sale
Each year at the "Spring Into Spring" event at Lauritzen Gardens, NDS has a sales table, selling daylilies provided by the membership, with the selling handled by the members as well. The sales receipts go a long way toward funding the NDS college scholarships.
Scholarship Program
NDS awards one or two college scholarships each year to members or family of members who are enrolled full time in horticulture classes at a Nebraska college or university and keep a grade point of 3.0 on a four-point scale or it's equivalent. See NDS Yearbook for complete program or contact one of the officers for application. There is also a NDS Scholarship Page on this website.
Plant Auctions
At the May and August NDS meetings, plant auctions are held to support all of the current NDS programs, with NDS purchased and member supplied plants.
